Mercaptans Detector Tubes | Standard Range: 5-120ppm | N10-129-20
NAGCO Mercaptans (RSH) detector tubes are designed for measuring mercaptan concentrations using NAGCO pumps and tubes. The tubes provide three measurement ranges for flexibility across different mercaptan concentrations.

• Sample Volume (Standard Range): 100 mL
• Sample Time (Standard Range): 2 minutes
• Correction Factor (Standard Range): 1
• Precision (Relative Standard Deviation): ≤ ±20%
• Linearity with Number of Pump Strokes: r² = 0.999

• Temperature Range: No effect between 0–40°C (32–104°F)
• Storage Life: 1 year in darkness at 5–25°C (40–77°F); refrigeration preferred
• Color Change: White → Yellow
• Part Number: N10-129-20
The tube uses a chemical reaction between mercaptans and palladium sulfate to produce the color change used for measurement. The standard range uses 1 pump stroke with a 100 mL sample volume and a 2-minute sampling time.
Cross-Sensitivity: The datasheet documents potential responses from hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, diethyl sulfide, ethyl mercaptan, propyl mercaptan, butyl mercaptan, acetylene, and ethylene. Ethyl and propyl mercaptan have a correction factor of 1.0, while butyl mercaptan has a correction factor of 2.0. Diethyl sulfide may interfere with measurements and can result in a high response.
Important: Up to 500 ppm H₂S is trapped in the pretreatment layer. Gray, pale brown, or light peach coloration caused by certain interfering compounds will not affect RSH readings in mixtures under the conditions described in the datasheet.
