Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Detector Tubes | Standard Range: 0.2-3ppm | N10-103-04
NAGCO Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) detector tubes are designed for measuring low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide using NAGCO pumps and tubes. The tubes provide three measurement ranges for flexibility across different H₂S concentrations.
Specifications:
• Standard Range: 0.2–3 ppmv
• Extended Range: 0.1–1.5 ppmv
• Extended Range: 0.4–6 ppmv
• Number of Pump Strokes (Standard Range): 1
• Sample Volume (Standard Range): 100 mL
• Sample Time (Standard Range): 1.5 minutes
• Correction Factor (Standard Range): 1
• Precision (Relative Standard Deviation): ≤ ±12%
• Linearity with Number of Pump Strokes: r² = 0.999
• Humidity: Must be used at <5% RH; reading drops sharply above 5% RH
• Temperature Range: No effect between 0–40°C (32–104°F)
• Storage Life: 1 year in darkness at 5–25°C (40–77°F); refrigeration preferred
• Color Change: Pale orange → Pink
• Part Number: N-10-103-04
The tube uses a chemical reaction involving hydrogen sulfide and mercuric chloride to produce a color change from pale orange to pink. The standard range uses 1 pump stroke with a 100 mL sample volume and a 1.5-minute sampling time.
Cross-Sensitivity: The datasheet reports measurable apparent readings from methyl mercaptan and butyl mercaptan. Ammonia, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon disulfide, carbon monoxide, hexane, and toluene show no apparent reading under the listed test conditions. Isobutylene can reduce the response when mixed with H₂S.
Important: The tubes must be used at less than 5% relative humidity, as the reading drops sharply above 5% RH. HCl and other acids and bases may also interfere with measurements.
