These tubes are designed specifically for measuring water vapor in natural gas. When sampling natural gas, the standard range uses 2 pump strokes with a 200 mL sample volume and a 45-second sampling time per stroke.
Cross-Sensitivity: The datasheet reports no apparent response to methane, isobutylene, hexanes, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, ethylene glycol, or triethylene glycol under the listed test conditions. Propane, hydrogen sulfide, and toluene may produce low apparent readings, while ammonia can affect the entire tube. Methanol may produce a light green stain above 70 ppm.
Important: Other possible interferences include amines and alcohols. The datasheet reports no response to heptanes and octanes as present in “rich” natural gas, commonly called condensate.
