Ammonia (NH3) Detector Tubes | Standard Range: 1-30ppm | N10-100-05

NAGCO Ammonia NH₃ detector tubes are designed for measuring ammonia concentrations using NAGCO pumps and tubes. A prelayer reduces the effects of humidity, providing reliable measurement across standard and extended concentration ranges.

Specifications:

  • Standard Range: 1–30 ppmv
  • Extended Range: 0.5–15 ppmv
  • Extended Range: 2–60 ppmv
  • Pump Strokes: 2 / 1 / 0.5
  • Sample Volume: 200 / 100 / 50 mL
  • Sample Time: 2 × 1.5 / 1.5 / 1 minute
  • Correction Factor: 0.55 / 1 / 2.4
  • Precision (Relative Standard Deviation): ≤ ±12%
  • Linearity with Number of Pump Strokes: r² = 0.999
  • Humidity: Tubes calibrated at 50% RH at 24°C (75°F); correction factors provided for varying humidity levels
  • Temperature Range: 0–40°C (32–104°F) at constant 50% RH
  • Temperature Correction Factors: 0.9 at 0°C, 0.95 at 10°C, 1.0 at 25°C, and 1.1 at 35°C
  • Storage Life: 2 years in darkness at 5–25°C (40–77°F); refrigeration preferred
  • Color Change: Purple → Beige

Reaction Principle:
A prelayer reduces the effects of humidity. Ammonia then reacts with phosphoric acid according to the reaction: 3NH₃ + H₃PO₄ → (NH₄)₃PO₄, producing the measurable color change.

Cross-Sensitivity:
The tube may respond to other amines and basic compounds. Pyridine and diethylamine produce measurable responses, while hydrazine and methylhydrazine can also be measured under specific conditions. Carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, hexane, isobutylene, and toluene showed no response at the concentrations tested. Carbon dioxide can reduce the ammonia response when present in mixtures at sufficiently high concentrations.

Other Possible Interferences:
Amines and other basic compounds may interfere with measurement.
